Not Swindon transfers but Exeter have signed 33 year old Colin Daniel, they really are becoming Dads Army.

Will Grigg has reiterated his desire to move closer to his home in the Midlands and has apparently turned down an approach from Wellens at Donny as they are too far North, would be on big wages but would be brilliant in this league if we were after him.

He scored 8 goals in 20 games for MKD last season but admittedly 4 were against us in one game!

Wellens has been trying to sign Grigg for about 3 years. Poor guy

I still have a feeling we will sign WBA's striker and ex Town youngster Owen Windsor on loan close to the deadline.

You need to start questioning a managers training methods when this seems to happen at every club

I was thinking something similar to be honest. Not sure of what the story was at Oldham but we certainly experienced problems and now at Donny?

Also not sure Wellens has an eye for a keeper either, this is very Kovaresque by their loan keeper Pontus Dahlberg the loanee from Watford last week.

Yeah I got pelted when I dared to suggest it to.

He’s done nothing to prove my thoughts incorrect in his two jobs post Swindon.
Relatively early days yet though...

I too was met with some unsavoury responses when suggesting that "some luck" probably had a part to play in Wellens' success.

He's a decent enough manager though and there's no doubt about his work ethic but we all usually need a smidge of luck somewhere along the way. We tend to get more of it when combined with a period of success (in football players staying injury free, not picking up excess suspensions, shots going in off the post that would normally go out off the post and suchlike) and the list of reasons is fairly inexhaustible.

Surely you judge a Manager by his success?
Not bad a League Two Title and a JPT Trophy.

Can only comment in what I watch and the League Two campaign and Football was terrific.
Notwithstanding with what was going on behind the scenes.

Wellens is a decent Manager and Coach and professional footballers have also commented regarding this. Hearing really favourable comments from the players regarding the current set up which is really great to hear after the utter shambles from last season.
I think we can all agree that Sheridactyl was fucking useless at every level.

Wasn't it Ben Chorley?

I still think Jamille Matt would be perfect if we were playing with a target man, always a handful when he played against us but we wouldn't be able to prize him away from high wages at FGR. 21 goals in 46 games for FGR and 3 goals already from 4 games this term.
