Having a young squad does not necessarily mean that ALL players are young. It's always best to have some experience in there as well.

The General's hardly a spring chicken.

Indeed, there has to be a good blend of youth and experience. I reckon we'll be looking at a reasonably experienced fella to play up front rather than a younger untried forward. But I could be wrong

Looking at the way we play it's going to need to be someone who is comfortable getting the ball into feet and retaining possession either with back to goal or running the channels. I think Simpson is good enough running into the channels but doesn't have the touch or the nous to play with his back to goal. This I think is where you are looking for an experienced striker that is able to use their body to make the ball stick to him.
Absolutely this. It was our biggest shortcoming at Salford and enabled them to dominate us in the first half.

Very good singing for Rochdale...

He was very close to signing for Town at one point. I do hope Rochdale have managed to shrug off some of the imposters sniffing around their club though!

For anyone mentioning “Norwood”, I believe he’s now injured so an unlikely transfer.

Not Swindon transfers but Exeter have signed 33 year old Colin Daniel, they really are becoming Dads Army.

Will Grigg has reiterated his desire to move closer to his home in the Midlands and has apparently turned down an approach from Wellens at Donny as they are too far North, would be on big wages but would be brilliant in this league if we were after him.

He scored 8 goals in 20 games for MKD last season but admittedly 4 were against us in one game!

Wellens must be simmering at the moment then as sounds like he's in exactly the same position as last season with a poor start, even worst than ours last season in fact and not able to get the players he wants.

They have massive injury problems as well. All of their strikers and their centre backs are either out or carrying injuries. Tough gig for Wellens so far.

You need to start questioning a managers training methods when this seems to happen at every club

It also doesnt help when part of Wellens remit is signing good players but with poor injury records.
