Yep, part of his job is to be paid to go to the gym (and not even every day).
As a professional (in anything) it could be easy to get annoyed and then somewhat lax about things in an unprofessional environment but when you read some of those comments in the Athletic article, weren't people previously giving the "Irish Messi" (Jordan Stewart) a load of stick for saying he should have been looked after better?
I don't have as much sympathy with senior pros saying their protein shakes weren't made. Fucking diddums. Make them at home before you come to work. I'm sure you'll have the time (especially if skipping the gym). Yes it's accurate that it was a shambles at the club at the time but fuck me...if I was on c£2-3k pw, I would've either just cracked the fuck on and made them myself or employed someone on £20k pa to be the Shaker Maker; yep even if someone said "...they aren't qualified to do them". Have the ballsacks to just have a bit of initiative, even just to keep the odd thing or two ticking over. Could also claim the cost back off the club at a later date or use it to offset as a gift to reduce your own tax bill (footy players are employed by clubs but I gather most are individual businesses thus freelance/self-employed). No, it's not in their job description per se but I think some of these pros think they're a Rock n Roll Star!

As for keeping fit. No excuse. Instead of waddling to the press with a protective veil of anonymity (and likely negotiating a fee too), a true working pro would probably have kept their thoughts in-house and knuckled down - especially in pre-season.
Unfortunately for the PPP he didn't rise up and dig in when really required to as a senior pro, instead he just disappeared. That's essentially the memory he'll likely leave for many fans here now. You see the true level of people when the shit hits the fan and all he wanted to do was stay at home getting paid.
Oh well, I Acquiesce that my rant is over - if he continues this current fitness regime up, I doubt he'll Live Forever. As for 33...fuckadoodle. The lad easily passes for 43. Have to laugh that on TransferMarkt, he's also valued at around £750k
