No chance anyone offers actual money for Baudry or Caddis, or even Grant. Old, OOC in the summer....
I didn't say for a fee, an offer to take over their contracts is more likely, sign on a freebie with mutual cancellation of contract like Dion Donahue.

That's really not relevant to what I said, JJ I've not said he won't score a lot of goals here if he does sign or anything else that contradicts anything you said in your reply. I'm not one of 'them'. I said he doesn't excite me and, from what little information I have, he really doesn't. He will continue to not excite me until I see something that changes my mind. Not suggesting you are one of "them" as you say but I think he would have been an asset for a very very poor forward line that we currently possess! I think if we do get another young striker as a loan then Tyler will be sacrificed, even though he has promise he hasn't delivered regularly, I have no problem with him staying though as he is a different option off the bench but I am not sure he is good enough to hold down a regular starting slot yet.

He really doesn't excite me anyway - doesn't sound any better than we already have. Although admittedly I know next to nothing about him other than his wiki stats (which are quite poor).
in some ways I agree but the fact that he is wanted by promotion chasing Pompey suggests he has something about him. I think he was very good for Coventry when they were on the rise through the leagues as well. We probably have to look further down the bargain basement bucket now!

I think we would have to pay a team to take Baudry unfortunately. One of those that is just not good enough for L1 but oozes class at L2.

Hope, J. Grant, Iandolo, & Broadbent are all ones I can see going or getting loaned out
I can’t see any of them going anywhere unless we want a threadbare squad. It’s not like they’ve been left out of the squad on purpose, they’ve been on the injuries list the last few weeks and some are getting back to full fitness. If anyone wants Baudry, I’ll drive him to wherever needed.

He's been linked with FC SKA-Energiya Khabarovsk. Better start now if you want to get him delivered before the transfer window slams shut!! P.S, he hasn't really!

TBF to the lad he has got 7 goals in 16 games, only 11 of which he has started. That's pretty good in what is a generally shite team. Edit - Looking at this he has only played 90 minutes for us twice!! http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/PlayingRecord.asp?PersonID=SMITHTYL&Season=2020-2021

I have no doubt he would benefit from playing as a front 2 but he seems under utilised by Sheridan and as many others has not been played in his best position often. I don't want him to go back but he isn't really getting enough game time with us at the moment. Jonny Smith and Matt Smith have pretty much played every minute of every game they have been fit for and we haven't brought in Thompson and Travers to not play in every game. So any new loanees would either have to be content in not being in the matchday squad often or wait for one of the 5 other loanees to be injured (which has happened often already).

I'd rather have Tyler Smith than the other lad. He's shown he knows where the goal is and has an impressive goal return. I reckon he just needs a big lump playing alongside him or something.
The other lad might (or might not) be better suited tactically, but on paper Tyler Smith is a no-brainer for me.

Minded to agree, Smith's return has been decent considering how little we have used him and how poorly we have used him when we do. But if we are going to persist in using him as a lone striker and lumping long balls up to him, he isn't the player for that role. That's not his fault, that's a failure in our tactics

My comparison wasn't actually between Tyler and Hiwula it was between Tyler and an unnamed young striker loanee, quality unknown. Do you think if we did sign another striker on loan would we simply have 6 loanees and only have 5 in the squad leaving 1 loanee out totally from the matchday squad? Or would we try and get in a player on loan who is better than what we have and if he is signed as being better then it would only be between Tyler and Jonny Smiths to leave out. Jonny has started every game he has been fit so far, Tyler has not. So by process of elimination I guessed it would be Tyler that would miss out rather than Jonny as with Jordan Stevens returning it leaves us light of true wide players. Which is why I suggested earlier that if we did sign another striker then it would be more likely that it would be as a perm signing not a loan one, but there aren't that many half decent free strikers left on the market, also whoever does sign if they haven't been playing regularly so far then they will take time to get up to speed again ala Pitman with fitness. And I cannot see Power forking out any form of transfer fee for a player as in the current climate that would be stupid.

Maybe Sheridan will shift tactics and not play two out and out wide men. J Smith might be sent back as although he's played a lot his not really delivered much. A different loan option that gets yet more goals out of Tyler might be the way to go. Who knows, wait and see who appears next if anyone.

Not sure I agree with that. He's been wasteful in front of goal but he's been our most dangerous player much of the time.

I agree, to say hes not delivered much is missing the point, he has looked a constant threat in every game he has played when not played as a wing back. A lot of shots haven't hit the target yet but he creates many chances all on his own and thats why Wellens and Sheridan have picked him to start in pretty much every game he has been fit for so far.

There's only so long surely you can pick him and hope he produces match winning contributions. Being our most dangerous player this season is not a great thing, maybe a change of direction would pay dividends. He could stay and improve his delivery and finishing of course. Up to his Oldham level perhaps.
