Kovar has been in training with us since Monday.

I see a twitter rumour account links us with Jordy Hiwula, ex Coventry and out of contract. Having watched a quick vid he looks like a perfect Jerry replacement to play wide or upfront.

Hiwula was quite highly rated early on - a decent project for Wellens.

I see we’ve offered Ireland a contract but his agent wants too much.

Thought he said he’d play for nothing just to get a chance to prove himself.

Let’s be honest - that was never going to happen was it? 2 years out the game with no income. Easy to say in an interview, difficult to actually follow through with.

Kovar is currently still driving round the magic roundabout trying to figure out which exit to take
We've had a curious history with Czechs that seem to turn up or have been rumoured to turn up but don't actually materialise or only materialise for a short while, Milan Misun, Petr Mikolandia and the big fat donkey chap that PDC bought in.

Lukas Magera..... yes, a good observation if  based on a small sample, STFC Czechos have certainly not brought as much pleasure as the Czech womenfolk.

Brez is Slovak, open to debate the differences to a Czech and a keeper, so perhaps a better rune....

Decent record with time on his side to improve. On what little I know of his rep and YouTube highlights, plus the fact he can play wide, I’d say get him in on a 2-3 year deal. (Let’s hope the club apply a bit more scrutiny to transfer dealings than I do).

Also, our next friendlies are Bristol City and Brentford who, in my mind, are amongst the bigger hoarders of players in The Championship so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we're using these games to look at certain players - especially the Brentford B game.

Coverage on the clubs twitter of the City game

No coverage until the end of the Brentford B game due to ‘the nature of it’

I have just seen that Flint interview crop up again, they still seem to get over excited by that. Beats painting bedsheets with slogans wanting managers who had not been appointed at the time out I suppose.

Given our current squad i wonder how the players will be split. I know we are treating the carling cup as a friendly, but at this point i would expect to play a starting eleven.

Will he mix and match players across the 2 games? Best team to play Bristol? Trialists for the Brentford game? Is Noel Hunt taking one match etc etc. Could be quite revealing.

Needs to take subs to both games as well, cant risk injuries to fryers/Baudry and the usual candidates.

Hercules was the name of the horse in Steptoe and Son.

True story.
