Apparently, Benda doesn’t want to be a bench warmer - even for PL WBA
@reluctantnicko Benda wants to play first team. Quote Tweet
WBA Report @WBAReport · 1h Replying to @reluctantnicko Grbic to Atletico, Marshall to Derby, Hart to Spurs... Anything on Swansea’s Steven Benda to WBA or are we set to lose out on him too?
No real surprise there, hopefully that puts us at the top of the list for him to return here for another season to continue to learn his trade when the time is right for him to take over as Swansea No 1 or a big offer comes in for him. At least if Benda returns we know what we are getting, we can then look to sign an older keeper as backup to keep him on his toes and push for a place and then not get complacement

Wiki says he retired
He could easily become un-retired. He's apparently mentioned recently that he's looking for a club.

few reports suggest he was training with Bolton during the summer but they decided against signing him.
Guessing, he's up in that area and presuming he's friends with Noel Hunt we might be giving him a game as a favour to get him up to match fitness. Wouldn't have thought centre midfield is a priority position?

He hasn’t played a professional game in two years but in an interview with The Athletic, he said he is “training like an absolute maniac,” and is planning to make a return to professional football. “I really believe I have three or four years left in me, minimum,” said Ireland, who has also been training alongside Man United stars Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Diego Dalot recently. “Physically, I feel 27 or 28. I just want to get motoring again because there is so much more to come out of me.”
