I think more a suggested rumour rather than us actually being interested, there has been no suggestion we actually ever were after him. He doesn’t really match what Wellens has said he’s looking for, he wants a striker that’s literally only going to do all of his work in and around the box. If Tyler Smith is a replacement for Muskwe like Wellens stated then obviously we need a replacement for Yates and you could argue Morton fits into that bracket but I think Smith is the real replacement for him personally. |

I means it’s tenuous even for the TEF.

Can't see how Morton fits into Lincoln's style of play at all, unless they are having a huge shake up? Can't see it. Morton is very much the Yates style replacement as you hint towards. There are others in that ilk too but I believe we are one of the L1 Clubs in for FGP. |

Yeah I hear what you're saying re fan postings (serious or trollish) but if we're honest, as a kind of direct replacement for Yates, Town/RW/Jewell would be silly not to be enquiring with the Baggies about Morton (as well as others), wouldn't they? |

They’ve been having a shake up since Appleton came in. All of the hoofers are either gone or on their way out (think 6ft+ Bolger is the last waiting time be moved on) and most have been replaced by young, technical players. They’ve signed two or three younguns from WBA already, so wouldn’t be surprised to see Morton head there, particularly given Appleton’s history with the club. |
