Think it's a shame he's gone. I get the logistics, family, wages, contract length etc are good reasons to leave but would have liked him to stay. Surely he must leave with a heavy heart and some regret considering he's dropped back down a division after firing another club into the one above.
Absolutely, I think every Town fan would have loved him to stay, even for one more season but we can all understand that at 32 he needs to think about (probable) security and I do think that if he lived in Bristol rather than Liverpool he would have stayed for another season.

How about Nicky Maynard. No longer at Mansfield and Wellens was after him before Doyle.

When Mansfield announced him as their big signing wasn't he reported to be on £4K a week and done nothing in league 2

Been training with Plymuff ahead of a move for the last month according to their forum.

He's on £0k/week now.

And he scored 14 last season, in a team near the bottom of the table.

He said a couple of weeks ago that everybody knows he wants to stay at Swindon and he and the club weren’t far away in terms of a new contract.

Maynard wasn’t exactly training with Plymouth. He was remotely keeping fit whilst living in Manchester.

Just went by the posts on the Muff forum who seem to think its cut and dried he will sign for them.

We could do worse than Maynard, he wasn't great against us last season but he was Mansfields best attackign option by a country mile.

Wellens stated that he was his number 1 target last Summer but that we couldn't match the wages offered by Mansfield.

Highly likely Wellens/Jewell has been in touch as he is a freebie.

I would prefer Pitman but Maynard is a possibility for sure.

I presume he wanted to keep fit so asked his previous manager if he could help out.

I don’t think he wanted to do Joe Wick!

Alan Nixon says Brentford are interested in DJ! Guess there's a chance we could him back on loan.
