So according to the Bolton News, Doyle hasnt been announced yet due to to an agreement between the clubs. Wonder what that is?

I know the players have gone on the end of season jolly today according to instagram, well Curran and Yates have anyway. Wonder if Doyle is going on that before it is announced?

I don't get why we have a say in that, he's a free agent.

gentlemans agreement I guess, let's get him pissed in Spain and put a contract in front of him Smiley

I’d love Morton down here.
Well that sounds about 7 different kinds of wrong.

For me he was very similar in style to Yates just a bit taller it seemed. Played the channels well and looked lively around the box, wether or not we would match Northamptons offer for him to go back on loan remains to be seen and a lot depends on how he got on with Curle too I expect.

Comes from the West Country having been born in Torquay and served the youth team at Yeovil for a few years, we could do a lot worse than him especially if Yates does not return.

But isn't.... I'm with PP.  Would love to see the boys from Greenock down here.  Just over 50 years now, but portended a decent season.

That's some crowd for a friendly I also remember watching Ayr United in a pre-season around the mid 70's

gentlemans agreement I guess,

Reported dealings over the last 12 months involving Bolton suggest one should not trust them with such things.

I suspect any delay is cash based again, as noted before I assume Doyle will be getting some manner of sign on fee up front, it took days for Evatts to be formally announced as Barrow demanded the compensation paid up front and cleared funds before they released him, Doyle always seems pretty savvy so suspect has demanded same.

'Agreement between the clubs' sounds much more palatable to their fans compared with 'locating the pot to piss in'.

We had a few friendlies v Scottish clubs in the mid to late 70's..... my biological clock which is completely messed up, is telling me we should be starting to get a frisson of excitement about pre seson friendlies about now.

Even Wellens mentioned that he didn't know why they hadn't announced it yet on the bus tour..

We often used to have pre season friendly away games in Scotland back in the 70s and 80s.

I would welcome the return as I am often in Scotland during July/August and a chance to see us at very different venues.

I have seen us play at Clyde and Forfar in 1980ish but we have also had games away at Ayr(home and away), Dunfermline, Arbroath and Clydebank that I can remember, there have probably been several more too, never one of the big boys though in my lifetime that I know of.

He would have to work hard to earn the "Pele" addition to the title though Wink
