If it came down to a straight choice I think he’d choose us, he wasn’t anywhere near as free scoring under Curle. Thing is some other teams will probably be bidding as well so will be a choice of a few.
Curle played him often in midfield or wide left.

In that case we need him to play for Rotherham even if he just gets on as a sub!

Won't Hope be actually filing the Yates role, can we accommodate both?

Yes, because Yates would be the no. 9.

Wellens said he was still looking for a striker. I think having Hope and Yates would have allowed us to rotate more, and a little more tactical flexibility.

His squad number on Saturday will reveal a lot. I’d imagine he’ll get number 8 but if he’s given 9 I think it’ll be safe to assume Yates won’t be back.

If there is genuine cash interest in Yates, they’d be mad to play him Saturday - even as a last minute sub.

I don't know if teams are allowed to reuse numbers in a season? Or am I just talking out my ass?

American striker Keiran Anker is available for a forward starting slot.

Or maybe that would sound a bit too "pub team"?
