That’ll be a surprise. I think he’s too good for L2.

Which sounds about right, we have a few players that are too good for L2.

Or DJ who we haven’t used much lately.

Interesting if true. The big criticism of him at City was his inability / unwillingness to work off the ball, which is what Wellens’ wide forwards are all about. Maybe Woolery is the injury?

I'm sure all will be a lot clearer at two o'clock tomorrow.

Can he play centre midfield then?

I take it that it is indeed Doughty out then?

With May returning to Pompey, signing Semenyo on loan would still leave us with 6 loanees. City would expect him to play, not sit on the bench.

If any of the present loanees are converted to perms - problem solved.

I'm not doubting the lad's ability but, if Doyle does go, Semenyo does not sound like a replacement for him. Doyle's a poacher, not a winger or attacking forward (and we have some of those already).

By all accounts, Doyle is costing us quite a bit. Methinks that'll mean a fair bit will be left over to get in a like for like replacement (position-wise).

I also have faith in the recruitment mojo of Wellens/Jewell.

That's if Doyle does go of course. Hopefully this discussion is redundant.

I imagine if Doyle goes the ready made replacement is Yates. He’d go central and then we’d get a wide forward to fill the gap Yates is currently occupying

Sounds plausible, if he did go back though I would like us to go for another striker as well, one who is an out and out striker not a wide attacker like Woolery or jack of all trades like Yates.

Semenyo would only be a direct replacement for doyle or yates so that would be 5 on loan?
