as it gives us a chance of naming a credible 17 in the match day squad

Bit bored at work so......

Is our matchday squad potentially not currently credible and if so why is that?

Out of the loop a little, and not being a lower league scout, why the hype about Isgrove? 26 years old with fewer than 90 games played

Numbers... before these two, we had 15 who might be considered starters, fit and ready to go.  That includes presumably Henry for bench sitting..... stick in these 2 and then Iandolo, and we have the 18.

Always highly rated at every club he has been at but often picks up injuries, at Southampton they hoped he would make it in the Premier League but injuries stopped that progress, he has also been called up by the Wales national side a few times and played once just over 2 years ago. Played a few games at U21 level too for Wales.

Was touted as one of the so called "wonderkids" coming through the youth system at Southampton but couldn't make the step up....much like Zeki Fryers at United.

Had a listen to Wellens on the listen again thing.

Each time I hear him he talks a lot of sense and in general sees things as most of us fans do.

He names Mark McNulty as one of his main targets but couldn't afford his wages for the loan so he went to Sunderland, he also stated that he had spoken to pretty much every striker we have been linked with in Doyle, Hylton,Hope, Lang etc and that we couldn't get near a deal or they weren't actually availble in the end.

No idea who is striker target was that scored 27 goals last season and now is out for 3 months with a knee injury. Maybe he will be a target again in January.

I predict that the 27 goals was a misleading figure.

Honestly wish we would give him a chance in league 2. Seems to score goals for fun over the past couple of seasons. Could be our new Austin

They'd want too much money for anyone in L2 to pick up, and at his age, it's a poor gamble.

Cheltenham had a bid of £100k turned down last season as it was derisory according to the Fylde chairman, but I think he would be worth a bigger bid than that, maybe £150k to £200k.

He will score goals, there is no doubt if he was 5 years younger he would have been snapped up by a league team before now.

Quote
He said: “With Nikolay (Krastev), we were waiting for his previous club to make sure there was no compensation. That went on and on.

“It takes 28 days for international clearance, and by that time we would’ve played eight games.

“We had to say no.”

So, going by that, it looks like it was his previous club's fault for faffing about.

Based on no new faces before Saturday, team will likely look like this:

McCormick
Hunt
Conroy
Baudry
Fryers
Lyden
May
Doughty
Isgrove
Woolery
Yates

Subs
Henry
Reid
Broadbent
Ballard
Iondolo
Jaiyesimi
Twine

Thats 7 new players in the starting 11 and 10 in the 18. With Rose and Mcgilp due to return from injury within 2 weeks, we are only a recognised goalscorer and maybe 1 other attacking midfielder (Bennett?) away from a decent looking squad. Overall much to be optimistic about, with most of the recruitment done early, although with usual caveat of new players having to bed in.

I’m not sure where I read this, but someone posted that our max wage is £2k per week. That’s got to be bollocks cos even if the 3 amigos were on that it’s ‘only’ £300,000 per year which, by my reckoning, means our total budget is ‘only’ £1.2m per year which is way out - if indeed they do account for 25% of our budget.
