Incoming (Imminently, according to the adver).

And it looks as though Knoyle is gone.

Looks like my gut feeling was right Tongue I guess they would be to show off the new kit as well. Shame about Knoyle but obviously replaceable with this. I wouldn't be surprised if we got two signings this week.

Out of interest, just how many assists would you have considered enough and how was he expected to achieve that considering that we lacked a consistent goal scorer as has been discussed on here for months.

I would say 6 from the games he played, 2 last season and 4 this. Last season the likes of Norris, Mullin or Richards were good enough to stick in the sort of quality ball required... this season, again Richards, and then Theo. Bayo, not atm that sort of finisher.

Further ideally you'd like to add in a couple of goals.    To give you some sort of idea, how it works... Lincoln who pissed the league and didn't have a 20+ man, had a full back who we know, Harry Toffolo, who had 6 assists and 3 goals. That's the sort of level you want to see.

Heard a rumour that we are one of several clubs looking at Mitch Clark a RB released by Villa who spent last season on loan at Port Vale. He can also fill in at CB and is a Wales U17/U19 international and aged 20, played 1 first team game for Villa in the EFL cup and 46 games for Vale last season.

Vale wanted to sign him but his agent said hes off to a team with better prospects than them. (theres confidence!)

Fingers crossed we get him then. Played under Paul Bodin for U19 Wales, that could possibly help us.

Maybe, or maybe he's played it exactly right?

Time will tell, let's see who the new RB is and how well he does.

True, it's just a niggling doubt.

Setting deadlines and threatening to withdraw contract seemed strange though, assuming that would mean we couldn't get compensation? He went over his original deadline straight away, then Conroy went on holiday and turned his phone off.

That is if its not just agent talk to feign interest from other parties to increase his potential wages.

Port Vale fans seem to like him and would love him to sign for them. I saw both games with Vale and don't remember him at all TBH.

He was runner up in the young player of the year awards for them.

Not one player would leave me with a heavy heart if they left.

Including Doughty and indeed Woolery, one of the most disappointing for me ref his big fee, i hope he kicks on.

Isn't Bodin now a coach at Vale?

I’m impressed. Moreso by the fact you have replied than the content of the reply. With such a big clear out clicking into gear now we’ll soon see where named players will be playing and a greater idea of how we are going to set up and play. Plus where those bloody elusive goals are going to come from.

Be surprised and delighted if it is, indeed, Clark.

‘Sides in the German Bundesliga have been credited with an interest in Clark, who made just one senior appearance for Villa - playing the full 90 minutes in the 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Wigan Athletic last season - despite impressing in two pre-seasons under Steve Bruce.’
