Isn't there also an 'extension' to the window for turning existing loans into permanents? Or did I imagine that?
I am not sure but you could be right, some loans do seem to get turned into perm deals in which case the cancel the loan, thats certainly how it used to be.

If you add Koiki to the mix for next season too, it's 5 signings (Koiki, Rose, Broadbent, McGilp, Curran) on deals beyond the end of this season.
I'd hazard a guess we might be looking at Theo and Bennett for next year too.
Most joined up thinking I've seen from us for a while. Looks like, with Jewell and Chorley, plus adding Shirtliff, we're building an infrastructure on the football side of the business that is actually fit for purpose.

Out of contract players can still be signed. Maybe we’ll cancel Richards’ contract if the deal to Vale still has legs.

Only works if the players contract was cancelled before the transfer deadline otherwise players freed cannot sign for a new club until the next transfer window.

I may be wrong, but I think a player has to have been a free agent before the window closed for them to be able to sign for another club.

That's a bit of a leap of faith.... as things stand for next season we could put out an XI. Not sure if KK has an option, but let's say he does. Vigs?/LMc Knoyle, Broadbent, Curran, Koiki? J McG, Rose, Toumani, Doughty Kaiyne, Keshi The question is, not so much do we have players, but are there sufficient players good enough....... I'll leave that for now.

I think the key word in Panda's post was 'building'. Clearly we are going to have more players in mind for the start of next season. That said, I don't think that XI you posted is too shabby at all.

Building In that side you've got Broadbent, who looks a tidy acquisition, Curran who's a kid playing at centre half, Koiki who may or may not sign for a further loan, and McGilp to come in who we know nothing about. I don't see that as particularly a long term strategy, more like when TT signed Conroy and Starkey as sort of punts. Building is a bit more than acquiring a pile of bricks and chucking them together.... however I'm not sure that in today's Div 4, you can ever do much different, so it's a case of let's see.
