Haha! Potter played loads of time for Oxford too. Not like the fly-by-nights sorts we've had recently (Balmy, Purkiss and McCormick). |

Haha! Potter played loads of time for Oxford too. Not like the fly-by-nights sorts we've had recently (Balmy, Purkiss and McCormick).
Scoring in their non league PO final v Conference North York, has conferred on Potter cult hero status, PB does show a remarkable lack of understanding of Town fans to even contemplate such a signing. Might be a bit more understandable if it was a top player type, rather than near window used bin type.... he then compounds it by saying Potter is looking at us, like he'd be doing us a favour. |

I only went there once too in the 85/86 championship winning season on a Friday night. Bamber scored an equalizer and the 1,700 Town fans in a crowd of just under 3k went wild. Crammed in like sardines we were. Almost stood on the touchline too, looked like an absolute full house(6k) but was only 2,997 there.
I went there then too. We went to speedway first away at Oxford then went up to Colchester. Went in the pub at 6 and it was packed with Swindon fans. It was a good Friday. Great atmosphere and we were packed in. |

It was a great day out but was so packed, there were probably 3k Town fans in there alone that night. Ah the good old days of altering attendances! Having never lived in Swindon, signing players that have previously played for Oxford is no problem whatsoever for me.
