Just the confirmation of McCourt by the looks of it.

Distinctly meh according to Chesterfield fans. But then again that’s what Cobblers said about Taylor and Richards.

He score a screamer against us last season.

That logic caused Leeds to give Billy Paynter a three year deal...

Can't say my socks are in any danger of being blown off, but I guess you can't expect much else from L2 signings. Hope Brown can gel them into a good enough team to get out of the division.

Chesterfield in general is currently a shambles of a football club.

Have to trust Phil Brown knows what he's doing.

Not exactly overwhelmed, but we'll see come October/November what they are all like.

Sounds like PB thought McCourt was being played out of position at Chesterfield.

Looks like he is going to be playing for the holding midfielder role so all the Dunne haters should be happy with this signing..

If, say, Ince were to sign, Bury fans would be on here saying how lazy/shite he was. The fact we know different when he played for us lends credence to the fact that certain clubs at certain times can make any decent player appear a donkey.

I think its irrefutable the "shit players" can be good and "good players" can be shit.

Still think its disappointing that we are limited to signing young and unproven players though.

Ah the Parkin Northampton paradox....
Also the same happened with Simon Cox with Brentford and Northampton fans.

Actually, come to think of it, never trust the opinion Northampton fans it seems.

Not well put.

I meant if you’re disappointed with young, unproven players then we hardly did well with last season’s older and proven player recruitment.
