Because our midfield is about as useful as a glass hammer.

Last season we stayed up not only becasue of Ajose's goals, but because we could loan in Gladwin and Louis after a rocky start....when they weren't available Doughty came in and did a job.  So atm we haven't anyone who you'd pick with any great enthusiasm.  Surprising really that as Sherwood was a top grade English midfielder, he hasn't as yet identified the obvious deficiencies and done something about it.

You'd think someone like Alan McCormack could do a job, doesn't play for Brentford...and seems the sort who likes to play rather than arse sitting.

Does anyone contemplate NO signings?
We'll make some signings, they will just be very late.

Possibly July.

But is that down to the poor quality midfield not creating the chances?

We only get 4 or so chances per game - if that

I'm just looking at this to write something for The Washbag and yes, chance creation isn't great and has got worse of late in terms of volume and quality. Our forwards are underperforming though (compared to historic scoring rates), bar Delf. Hylton is harder to judge as he hasn't had the minutes on the pitch at any standard.

you mean 5 goals between them isn't performing?! Smiley

delf  is surely out of here, even hylton has displaced him (he's done alright hylton, but was considered surplus not so long so)

I'm just a bit irritated that they have known we need players for quite a while and you'd have hoped they had people lined up straight away.  Weve lost Doughty and Furlong added to this.

Not time to wildly panic for me but we need at least 2 in before the weekend for me.

Sherwood (although not on record) has told multiple fans that he was hoping there would be 5 in this week, I am optimistic.... He may be calling our bluff but he would be stupid to tell fans one thing and do another as it will put a bigger divide between him / Power and the fans.

Maybe the down turn predicted in the weather this coming weekend will buy us more time before our next fixture.

They may well have done but it takes two parties to make a deal and may well be the selling/loaning clubs/players/agents that are fucking about.

Exactly, they know we are desperate so can up the price, or at the very least drag it out to see if we become desperate enough to offer more.

I'll be amazed if there's even 1, we've been here many times last couple of years, and it always ends the same.

Sounds like our kind of player. 12 appearances in 4 years at non league. None at all for 2 years.

Sign him up.
