In other news Charlton signed a player called Rod Fanni. At least I think its a player and not an instruction for home based extra training.

urgh really?

Why "urgh really"? I know a training ground has been built but could we have not splashed out 250k on someone regardless?
A permanent signing would have lifted the mood round here a bit?

Definitely should have forked out hard cash for a player just to appease the fans.

What could possibly go wrong?

So we strengthened the midfield when we really wanted at least one defender and one striker in, class!!!  All these scouts and background staff we now have have not exactly set the CG buzzing have they!!!

I had forgotten we have one of Powers bessie mates son as chief scout.
What a brilliant job he is doing.
I bet Kasim will have a foot injury later today.

Fuck me there's a few Timothy Timpson's coming out of the woodwork this morning. Dread to think what the other sites are like.

Kasim will see out his contract and get a nice signing on fee in the summer elsewhere in the championship. We should've known Power always going to use the emergency loan window for the last signing really.

Good point,if we're going to play 3-5-2 to accommodate Nathan, that leaves 3 from Louis,Doughty,Traore,Rodgers,Kasim and Robert. Perhaps the plan is to sign a centre half in the emergency loan window with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer.

Our failure to sign a new Elliot Benyon has not only doomed us to relegation but also deprived us the chance to have some real fun with a Wikipedia article once more.

Not sure why people expected anyone to sign - we've shown enough in recent months for the Management team to think we have a team more than capable of avoiding the drop, but we are also too far off a real challenge on the top, so why spend money? (unless you are Reg, in which case this is probably a sign of preparing for a season in League Two I guess).

The real test for our strategy is this summer.  One season went well, the next is going not so well.  A slight adjustment in recruitment strategy will be needed (i.e a few permanent signings with 1 or two like the Loungo mould) if we want to push on.  The model this season has been a little too extreme and it's shown the frailties of using too many "rough diamonds".

To put our position into some sort of perspective, we are 4 points better off at the same stage than 10/11. That side fell apart due to a dodgy window and the effect on the squad....we look in better shape this time, but we've seen already this season what can happen with a thin squad if injuries kick in.

One player whose status seems unclear is Jordan Williams...perhaps he's close to fitness?
