Yep, Bury's set up is smelling a lot like Crawley

This article from David Conn explains some of it http://www.theguardian.com/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2014/nov/12/bury-high-interest-loans-shadow-recovery

I await them announcing the friendly against Man Utd and the buckets coming out.

Again.

Happened so many times before.

Their fans are thick though and cant see it.

I wouldn't be so harsh on them. I've taken quite an interest in this, because of the nature of what they've done. There is absolutely no visibility to the fans, and as we well know there never is until the crap hits, and it looks as though it's starting to seep through with the alleged unpaid ccj's. Gonna be hairy for them.

No visibility apart from articles in the mainstream press for the past year? And the fact they have a big budget, again, but no substantial income and a chairman without any real backing. Doesn't take a genius.

I remember what opposition fans said/say about Swindon Town and how all the poop sticks. It makes me very hesitant to criticise or take the moral high ground when other club owners cannot manager their business without taking stupid risks.

Stories from Bristol Rovers suggest they have borrowed from similar sources to help running costs whilst court case with Sainsbury was on going

That's true. They are funding their legal case against Sainsbury's with a Wonga* loan.

The examiner article says Nathan has rejected a contract extension, is this common knowledge and/or true?

Power mentioned on his phone in on Monday that Byrne had refused to sign a new contract.

I asked Byrne if he'd be able to sign the shirt he gave me and I asked whether he'd rather do it at the United game or Newport. He wanted to do it at the United game.

Now, glass half empty people could read that he'd want to do it on Saturday as the transfer window closes an hour and 45 minutes before the Newport game kicks off...

Hopefully he's still around, but we'll have to wait and see.

Just thought I'd chuck more speculative fuel onto the fire.

I would prefer him to stay, but if he wants to go, I would cash in on him now (or January when the clubs are desperate, and a bit more willing to splash ze cash)

More than likely its easier to do it at a home game i should think

Any other updates on Bradshaw?

Maybe if we sell Byrne, he will be where the money goes?
