Nobody is advocating buying average players - no football club does that - they may turn out to be average but the initial intention is to get the best you can.
What people really mean is that if Power can, and has, paid transfer fees for players without the benefit of player sales/Wembley money/expensive contracts terminated, then why not now.
Which, of course, he may yet still do so.
Most clubs do buy average players and that's the issue. We buy potential and that's harder to find. |

On record? Or to a man in a pub? Maybe there is, maybe there isn't but there always has been for the "right" player under Power so far. I'm a little concerned but am more than prepared/happy to wait and see. |

Just read that Bashley have sacked their manager already, citing poor results and a lack of transfer activity!! They have played four and lost the lot, however the manager David Stride was only in charge for two of them!! Nothing to worry about at SN1 then!!!
