We tried Ward with our possession-based style, didn't work as he can't pass the ball unless its a 40 yard lump.

Exactly. But you seem to be looking at it from a negative angle. Shall we just keep an open mind. You can't deny that Power/Cooper have some intent.
And they seem to know what they are doing as well.

So to conclude, I think it's safe to say he's probably not a pile of steaming horse crap.

It's good to see Ward doing okay at Crawley but he wasn't the answer to Town's problematic February.

And Ricketts can play any of the back 3 positions - seems like the perfect player at just the right time.

Fair enough...it's just that nobody says a bad word about Ward...in public...but bringing in a 33 year old who hasn't played since November is a bit of a gamble...and Ward was our club captain last year, so there are a lot of parallels...on the surface...

Good. Here's hoping he can give us that bit of extra oompf to get us over the line.

He is very versatile and can play in any position in the back 4/5 the Wolves fans loved him last season and has local roots.

Apparently he is a fair bit slower now than he was a few years back but nowhere near as slow as Ward who has the speed of an oil tanker.

Several Wolves fans are disappointed to see him leave so although its a different direction than our normal signings I hope his experience with 52 Wales caps will help our defence.

He's taken a good slating on here I thought?  We know what Ward can do is the difference, and knowing what he can do is why we are happy with someone else.  Ward gave us a good few months and was a model professional.

With our suspension tightrope its a decent signing, nice to see a bit of experience bought in.
Hopefully won't be needed but essential cover

You're taking it quite badly, I'd say.
