It's fucking Redditch FFS. What difference does it make to anyone?

Of course, it never happens with other clubs - EVER

I would imagine the "not talking"/"talking" bit will boil down to the fact we have confirmed we haven't formally completed contract talks with him, so no issue.  Redditch originally said they were happy and their change in stance might be because we haven't offered them any sweetners (as they were expecting when initial interest sparked in the player and it became clear no transfer fees were needed).  Think they were hoping for sell-ons etc, even though they have no legal right to anything.

Wasn't it Redditch we played in the supposed annual 'Jimmy Davis' cup/pre-season thing?

Can't we just resurrect that as a sweetener?

Wouldn't criticise the Adver for reporting it.  Doubt this will come to much though.  Bit of a non-story.

It's like Bill and Ted have gone back and mixed up all the ingredients of our previous successes.  Under 22's making up the bulk of the team, Internationals on our books, playing style of a continental team, relatively untried coach, midfielders being worth good money, slight hint of financial strife in the background etc.  Who knows if it will be good enough to avoid relegation this year, but we can just enjoy the ride.

Which is probably why it's there, they seem well down the pecking order at HQ right now, so gone digging elsewhere to try and report something that doesn't look like a re-hash of other local reporters.

Do we?! Whose injured that I've forgotten about from last week?  Oh yeah, luongo..doh..

Anton Rogers must be pissed off.. If he's not good enough/the right type of player I suppose that's tough titties.

Newspapers job is to report news, not suck people off.

Is a nothing story anyway. The 7 day approach I think even exists in kids football. It'll be a slap on the wrists at worst.

Well today is the day that Jermaine Hylton is supposed to sign.

7 days after our approach as per FA rules.

Today is the day we can 'officially' talk to him and offer him a contract - but redditch may insist that it is not quite 7 days if they want to go by the exact hour, minute, second we made the initial 7 day request

Interesting comment below this article about Hylton:

Quote
So the plot thickens! Paul West is strongly connected with Jed McCrory!!

West and McCrory obviously not getting anything out of Hylton signing so have thrown their toys out the pram and kicked up a stink

Let's hope this doesn't scupper the players chances in a move into the football league

Haha. That explains a lot. There's also reference to Jed on West's wiki page.
