I've loved the idea of getting loan players from Chelsea ever since we bagged SSP.
? We didn't loan SSP we signed him.....we should be getting players from Spurs, NYD showed why. The only loan players I can think of from Chelsea, were Simon Gibson, who was a Micky Droy clone, of similar stature, but without the uncompromising violence, and Roy Wegerle. We signed Gibson, but not Wegerle. Loans from Chelsea, however aren't quite as wrong as loans from Arsenal.....Jo Kuffour excepted, for being the last man in red to score at the Madejski

Didn't we sign Sam on loan so that we could play him on the Saturday and then sorted the paperworwork out the following week?

I thought we loaned him first and then signed him permanently? Maybe I'm wrong.

As ever, Richard Banyard's site comes to the rescue. Reg is right, but you can see why I was confused. Player Profile: SSPAfter an original loan deal appeared to be falling through, Parkin surprisingly signed for the Town in August 2002 for an undisclosed fee, believed to be up to £50,000, depending on appearances. His purchase ended Andy King's long search for a striker - though Town fans were sceptical after Parkin's previous campaign had seen him net just five times in forty games for Northampton.

Haha! Micky Droy - what an animal. I remember us going to Brentford at the tail end of the 86/87 season when MD was winding down his playing days. He was up against Jimmy Quinn and he almost literally ripped the shirt off his back. They don't as they say, make them like that any more...

Re the possible sale of Mass.
LPs interview on Swindon Link over the Australian investment clearly shows that MLs time at Swindon has influenced the Chairman of the Construction Company.
Would his departure jeopardize this investment and is the investment linked to him staying?
Thoughts please?

Having Mass here may well have initially attracted the interest of the Aussie MD, but his/her business case for getting involved will be based on something a little more concrete than having an Aussie international at the club. Won't make the slightest bit of difference if he leaves (which he won't, unless someone offers ridiculous ££ for him.)

the montage is hardly going to show him being shit, but he looks pretty decent - should certainly fit into our midfield.

Is it me or does it look like most players in that clip can't be fucked? Seemed like most players just jog around and don't give a toss. It was like watching a pitch full of Berbatovs.
He looks decent though.

He seems to know where the net is anyway, give him a run out, he could catch them cold as I doubt they will know what he is all about.

I don't like players walking in to a winning team. He could be the next messi, still got to train and earn it.
