Although I agree with your idea of the back 3, it will be a bit rough on Branco, who appears to be improving very quickly and along with Byrne and Smith seem to be at a completely different level from last season.
Nice conundrum to have, though!
And, any particular reason that Stephens' loan is only til end of Jan?
I pressume it is southampton keeping their options open, if he sets the world alight and there is interest from higher up the league they may send him there or sell him or even decide they can still do without him and let us re-sign him until end of the season, a lot of long term loans have a break clause in january so the player can either be recalled or sent back. |

Lets be honest, Stephens is never going to play regularly in the Premiership with Southampton. If he does well here, who knows, a deal could be done.

Nope, hes 28 now and we don't seem to sign any player that is over 22 or 23. Also he was supposed to be on massive wages (£30k pw) at Bolton last season so will still command a premium in wages. |
