I think Byrne will play LWB, and I think he'll be good at it.

I guess it depends on deal structure, but to me that is a significant amount of money to turn down. Although we would be stuffed as a team to accept it.

Our £400k wasnt up front in one lump sum it was structured £100k up front plus £100k for promotion, £50k after a number of games/goals/caps etc and a sell on fee to Spurs. I doubt we have forked out much more than £200k on him so far.

Even worse deal when considering selling, then.

I think there is a big sell on clause to Spurs so the fee would have to be right for us to make a profit

£650k is a lot of money to turn down, would have understood if we had of taken it.
Encouraging that we didn’t though.

Power said 30 or 40% when talking about him and Wes. 30% would be 180k of 600,000.

Surely it would only be a % of any profit

Pretty sure that is the standard, not sure of specifics in this case though.

Assuming the earlier figures are correct and Mass has cost us 150,000 so far then we would pay Spurs 150-180,000 still leaving us with around 300,000 profit. Not too shabby but I think he will only improve and be worth a lot more in the future

Any theoretical profit needs to take into account how much it would cost to replace him too. A million+ and he's gone most likely.

Agree. Think he might play Nathan Thompson as a RCB too, rather than a wing back

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28311453This bit is interesting - 'Swindon chairman said the Millers' offer for Luongo was a "long way short" of their own valuation'
