As we have been bereft of any sort of transfer news there is a rumour that we may be interested in a young Newcastle striker Campbell
Is he the little ginger kid?

Yes he is. We could have two Geordies up front. All we need are a few Scottish bruisers and we'd be proper old skool.

Apparently the traillists Lambin, Kargbo and Amenku have left and Kalinga and Vandesompele Ladid have been kept on.

Ha! Love it. We've been quite good at retaining the services of Scottish journeymen, even recently. But Geordies have been thin on the ground. I agree...we could do with more.

@SamMorshead_SA: Liverpool Echo reports #stfc interest in Liverpool's Brad Smith.
Lightening fast left back apparently.

After a quick google search, Liverpool fans seem pretty excited by him. Interesting.

Peter Noble, Joey Butler, Willie Penman, Frank Burrows.. Mighty Michael Smith, is from the NE.....contrary to the prevailing opinion, I think he'll have a decent season.

Good for 20 goals? I actually think Williams and Smith up front could be quite potent last season. Smith certainly has an eye for a through ball and is a decent threat both in the air on the floor. If they can both click and hit the ground running against Scunthorpe, I think Smith could get 20 and Williams 10 next season.

Williams is a tricky one...clearly Power/Cooper would rather off load him, as he's a high wage, but there will only be takers if he can prove his fitness and then form. Therefore we have to hope he can get back to a decent level. With this in mind it seems the plan will be to play 3-5-2. Personally not a formation I like unless you have Glenn Hoddle in the 3, and wingbacks of the calibre of Bodin/Kerslake/Summerbee in the 5. As the left back, and central defenders, are the positions waiting to be filled, we'll have to wait and see.
