If there is one player in our squad who I think would turn down another club, it would be Nathan Thompson.

I hope Power isn't going to accept below market value for him. Surely he must be valued around a million?
A minimal six figure fee I reckon - not the player he was in 2012/13 and doesn't have the attacking side to his game you need to play at a higher level.

EDIT: Just remembered however that Lee Power got £400,000 for Flint...

Putting the notion that he's a popular homegrown player aside and basing this purely on his ability, I don't think Nathan Thompson is irreplaceable by any stretch of the imagination.

For the record, I don't want him to leave and I don't think he'd (want to) join Peterborough United.

I would hate to see either of the Thompson 'twins' leave right now. I think that what they bring to the Club in general and the Team in particular is something that can't be measured in monetary terms. Prime example being Louis' goal against Brentford (?) and the ensuing celebration involving his brother. Hopefully we can get another 3/4 years out of them before they deservedly move on to bigger and better things.

It was probably Sheffield Utd you're thinking of..

I think you're spot on though, with "home grown" players like the Thompson's it's about far more than how much money we'd get for them. From a fan perspective, at least.

I think of the goals from last season it's that one and Miles' against Coventry that I'll remember celebrating most.

Love the guy in the background too.

We need to retain both Nathan and Louis, both very talented with plenty development to come. In an era of club hopping players having home grown players means a lot I think. They both play with a pride and passion for the shirt that you won't find in journeyman players or premiership loanees. I think it's vital we retain them....

Power said on the phone in he'd had some interest in both (Thompson twins) but no offers.
