Although I haven't seen anything official so I hope I'm not jumping the gun.

I suspect Storey has to be sacrificed for us to be able to bring in Stephens, but that is a total guess.

I think Storey isn't quite up to League One yet, but is at that age where he needs a run in a side. Good move.

P'boro monitoring N Thompson.

They are after Dean Cox from LO also.

I'd be a bit pissed of to lose him to Peterborough.  Yes I know everyone has a price, and we are not in a position of strength. But I can't see Peterborough as a bigger club, even if the truth is mildly different.

If he steps up a level then fair enough.

Agree.

Peterborough have a good record of buying (mainly non-league) players and selling them on for huge profits. They also sign players on long contracts so perhaps they see N.Thompson as someone they can make a handsome profit for.

I hope Power isn't going to accept below market value for him. Surely he must be valued around a million?

I don't think Power will undersell any player, although I feel a bid nearer £250k with add ons would probably get him.

Really? I'd be wanting at least half a mill +.

Maybe I'm being unrealistic.

We all can only guess what his value is really, but I would guess about £250k based upon his experience and level he has been playing at (obviously has potential still) but not many teams at our level would be willing to pay more.

Wasn't Troy's fee set at about £200k + add ons based on number of games etc up to a value of £275k? Troy had played 115 games for Exeter in the bottom 2 leagues which is 50 more than Nathan has played in the same 2 leagues.

P'Boro are a decent enough team while not really a step up they are not exactly a step down either, they have ambitions of being a championship team sooner rather than later and in all honesty are probably more likely to get there sooner than we will (although judging by Ferguson's record it may take a bit longer), so perhaps a better long term proposition then we are if I remove my rose tinted glasses.

Would be a good move for Nathan. Peterborough are one of those teams who have scouts flocking to their games. Their players appear to make good moves for themselves and you would expect them to challenge again this year.
Unfortunately £250k is probably about the right fee - possibly less.
I'd hate to see him go - my daughter even more so.
The two Thompson brothers give 100% and are decent players - what more can you ask for. also when Louie got the winner in front of the TE and Nathan ran around from the bench and jumped on him was a real highlight of last season.
