I've heard that it is literally the only offer he has that isn't pay as you play / short term. No one is willing to take risks except for Carlisle.

Good risk though, if it pays off. He was a good defender but we couldn't afford to offer him the terms he wanted, and if he wants to move down a league to a club in the arse end of nowhere then fair play.
This is true, Carlisle are building quite a strong squad for this season with Paynter and Dicker and now Troy.

Shame though because when fit he is a very strong defender....but its keeping him fit, at least there are less big booty bitch distractions in Carlisle......

Surely Carlisle can't afford to pay Troy anything like what he was on here? I understand the attraction for him of getting paid every week regardless of whether he happens to be fit to play, and a sense that he enjoyed his loan spell there and probably felt that they showed a faith in him that we signally didn't seem to be at the time. Prior to his impressive last couple of months of the season he was getting a load of stick from "fans" about being a malingering money grabber so not too surprised he didn't feel he owed us too much loyalty despite getting well paid for being injured for 3/4 of his 2 years with us.

I never heard anyone giving him stick.

I thought he was magnificent at the end of the season. Would have kept him for sure.

Before his more recent run of good form he had shitloads of stick, certainly early in his Swindon career.

I don't think he ever got any stick as a player, it was mainly down to his attitude on a popular social media site, and apparent lack of interest in how we were doing whilst he was injured. Think he got attacked by some morons for getting paid a lot for doing nothing but perv on 'big booty bitches'.

That'd be me.

I more had a problem with the fact he seemed disinterested in the club (getting pissy at the team photo, his number, what he could have on his shirt, springs to mind) who were paying his wages despite having played nothing but a handful of games and who had put up the money to fix his injury. He came back after he was out and showed us what a good player he was and I respect him for that, but he's just yet another player who needs to realise that he's been given a dream job and he shouldn't moan about it.

We couldn't afford him.
He didn't want to stay.
He's dead to me.
Are we getting former FGR defender Jamie Turley to replace him?
