Would take balls of steel to return after the dog's abuse he got. Think he'd be perfect or the lone striker role though, just a shame it won't happen.
Plus wouldn't he be on mental wages when we're trying to get so called big-earners of the books?
This. He is on £8k a week at Coventry apparently but thats as a package much like Adam Rooney was on with us, basic wages would be a lot less.

From http://www.thefootballforum.net/index.php?/topic/185238-transfer-rumour-mill-can-you-guess-who-it-is-yet/page-271AFCB fan says - Our slightly donkey-ish centre forward Wes Thomas could be on his way to Swindon apparently. If he's on loan and motivated to earn a deal, he can be quite a handful. has size and pace, is good playing up front on his own in a 4-5-1. When his head drops he's very frustrating indeed.

Leon Clarke missed a penalty last night and got booked.
Would be a very interesting signing, perhaps he feels like he has unfinished business here?

Clarke is probably the better of those three names surely?

I thought that too, even with his history at STFC.

N'Guessen doesn't seem like an out and out forward which is what we need.
Sidibe has no goal scoring record to speak of (0 in 10 at tranmere last year) and his age suggests injuries
Clarke has proven he's a goal scorer at this level and was good as the loan forward at Coventry last year. Will be interesting to see if anything happens.
Guess Sidibe is more likely as he's out of contract

Never really seen much of N'Guessan but Sidibe was fucking useless at Stoke. Admitally thats a higher level but he didnt exactly score for fun at the Pikeys either.
Of the those linked today Clarke or Thomas would be the best options if possible.

Well if Rooney is off the payroll till Jan I bet that free's up at least £2000 a week, even if we are paying some of his wages still. Caddis and Benson must be out of here before the end of the month in some capacity.

Do you hear if they were positive talks or that nothing came of it?

A few questions about Clarke. Anyone? - Would anyone be able to summarise what he has achieved since he left us?
- What was his record at Scunthorpe and Coventry? (And wasn't he at Chesterfield for a while as well?)
- Is it correct that he was one of the better performers in a poorly performing Scunny side?
- Would it be fair to say that any 'issues' he might have would be solely with PDC, and not with STFC?

I'm still not keen on Clarke, someone who has had 6 clubs in just over two years? Yes he would score goals and play the role great, but would he effect the squad in a negative way. I like we are looking at someone the quality of Clarke and others but bit annoyed the board think a new striker is more important than getting a manager, as this should be the managers decision.
