Well this bit of Uwe Rosler quoting was quite interesting and a bit less edited than their official site.

http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-sport/west-london-brentford-fc/2013/07/30/rosler-unhappy-over-foderingham-claims-109642-33674354/

Quote
“It's very strange that some clubs are using Brentford for the wrong reasons to try and create momentum around their players.

“We have never spoken to or enquired about another goalkeeper. We didn't make a bid or financial suggestions for anyone else.

“The only person we spoke to was David. That deal went smoothly.

“What other clubs and newspapers have written to create momentum around their assets are definitely a lie.

Bit of an odd one really. I think Sam has been fairly diligent in confirming his sources (hence being outscooped by BBC Smiley), but it looks as though either Brenford got a bit worried about tapping up or that Sam was indeed 'sold' a dud story for whatever reason.

'Dud' stories are common-place in the media and for the most part they go ignored, which makes me wonder why Rosler is so touchy about this one.

Yes, it was just the way Rossler reacted. Plus as I said it seems unusual for Sam to get  it wrong, but having re-read the story "tentative approach" was mentioned rather than a firm and definite bid knockback.

He seems the type that would want to create the illusion that nobody in their right mind would turn down Brentford at the moment and for someone of Wes' calibre to do so after they lost Moore is seen as an embarrassment.

I have heard that Posh have signed a striker for 1.5 million, believed to be Britt Assombalonga.

Barmy cash for league 1 but I guess they did get 6 million for Dwight Gayle.

Good strike record in the lower leagues but thats a fuck off amount of money at this level as you rightly say.

Possibly so he doesn't have to say to the keeper they have signed 'Yeah son well obviously you were never our number 1 taget but we had to sign you as our main target was not available.'
