Agree Peter, forgot about the Forest link.

I seem to remember Cloughie saying he was impressed with the whole set up at Swindon when he started management at Hartlepool....and wanted Morris beforehand when at Derby.

Ex Town striker Garry Nelson wrote his 'year in the life' book the season Kevin died, he writes quite movingly about his reaction when learning the news, and has a few nice anecdotes about Mr Morris to share IIRC

It's only a penny on Amazon, if anyone fancies it.

Kevin Morris was a fantastic character and is still missed by those of us that met him or crossed paths.

A lovely man who never took the pipe from his mouth it seems and was always whistling or singing songs, he sang Rawhide to me when I was a young lad working at the club.

Turned down Nottm Forest under Brian Clough in about 76 or 77 just before they went on the run to the European Cup Final as he prefered to stay in Swindon where he was at home.

I think its justifable to use the term "Swindon legend" when talking about him.
Many many years ago I used to be fit and go down the gym that Paul Gilchrist ran - another decent bloke by the way. I met Kevin in there a few times and when I was injured he got me fit for a charity run. He didn't have to. A genuinely decent man and a tragic end

Years ago as a pup I did the FA coaching course and part of it was a football injuries session from Kevin Morris.
He pretty much (although clearly knowing his stuff) spent his time telling us stories of Town players including one about Frank Burrows who after getting a boot in the head in a home game (and KM said if Frank stayed down you knew it was serious) was then was put on a stretcher and carried by one really tall skinny St Johns bloke one end and a really small fat one the other so he was in effect on a slope, they dropped him twice trying to carry him off resulting in him telling them where to go and walked into the treament room under his own steam.
How true it was I don't know but he could tell a good tale.

Mark Roberts sounds like captain material,150 plus games for Stevenage, scores a few goals and appears to have legend status there.Even though he may be leaving, their fans only have good words to say about him

Their fans seem to think it's almost a done deal. Very highly thought of, club legend, etc.

Seem like a level-headed bunch of proper fans over there. I love it when they think their players are too good for us ...

He's not at their pre-season training in La Manga - he's stayed in England.
