Also, who knows whether he would want to play under Di Canio again?
Has any player turned down a transfer because of a manager? I suspect the prospect of a PL contract would soothe any pain (if there is any).

Is Foderingham better than David James, Robert Green.
Yes,
Nowhere near as good.

Not good enough now but maybe in time. Would be a huge risk for Sunderland.

I thought Sunderland had come out and said the PDC has very little say in the transfer market? He highlights a position then their DOF & Head Scout find him his player?
As to save on the scattergun approach we're very familiar with.

" Sunderland out to sign almost a whole new team this summer after almost getting relegated di Canio and his new director of football Di Fanti plan to snap up TEN players over the summer - and to sell Mignolet and Sessegnon"

I seem to remember Di Canio ranting about Wes after Preston saying 'he was the worst professional he's ever worked with'...can't see him taking a risk on that, but I could just have imagined he said that

No mate, I remember it clearly The Stadium of Light will be an interesting place this season It will either be a sensational season, or it will all end in tears It will be interesting to see if players on 30-40k a week will take kindly to being criticised so openly in public

I think a lot of my family members who are season ticket holders up there think the same Fred!
Gamble to take, but paid off and they stayed up last season...big pressure though now and as you say it will either be sensational or all end in tears (similar to here!)

Well they best get used to it...or they can fuck off.
PDC,s words not mine.
In my opinion players on that kind of money should be getting more critisism than a lower league player...if they perform all will be well.
The reason it ended in tears here was nothing to do with Paolo's management style.how could it.......we were top at the time.
It ended in tears because the board at the time felt it was time to leave....strange seeing as we were on the brink of riches in the Championship.

I would think it's a no brainer considering how hard it is to get and keep a good goalkeeper, all the years i've watched swindon and i can only think of 3/4 good goalkeepers who have been here over the last 20 years or so.
Foderingham is a must keep if you ask me.

It might be because he's been playing in a outstanding team, but I can't think of a 'keeper who has inspired this much confidence since Fraser Digby. If we could only keep one player, it should be Wes in my opinion.

Chesterfield sniffing around Gary Roberts according to Morshead.
Don't see it happening.

...and Brentford want Darren Ward.
That one would cause mild peril if it happened.

Ward going would be a huge blow and the biggest indicator yet next season will be a very long one.
He said he didn't drop down to League 1 to make up the numbers and won't be pleased with the lack of ambition shown so far this summer.
