Got nothing to do with doom.

Teams change year on year - especially so with a new manager.

The concensus seems to be our higher earners will try and be offloaded and some of our saleable assets will, indeed, be sold.

I'm only interested in what sort of players will be the replacements

Well Kmac has a 66% success rate with signings so far. I'm not going to work out Paolo's percentage but we can safely assume it's nowhere near that.

I would like Ferry to stay but he isn't the top class midfielder that many make him out to be. A good League 1 player but won't be the end of the world if we lose him.

Only player in the squad I don't think we would replace to an equal standard without spending real good money is Wes Foderingham.

I think most would be dissapointed if Ferry was to leave, who wouldnt be sad to see a decent player leave? But to be fair, we are probably going to have a very different team next season anyways... Will be real interesting to see who will be brought in as replacements. After all, we could unearth a few gems out of the players released from bigger clubs.

Agreed that potential wise he would be hard to replace but not at this moment in time - Devera can slot in for example and he is just as capable defensively with obvious attacking limitations. Then again, Thompson isn't that good going forward at the moment, not in a Paul Caddis way.

I cling on to a degree of hope in regards to summer signings, as we were supposedly very close to loaning Andy Johnson...will certainly be interesting to see the calibre we are looking to bring in.

Letting Ferrys contract run this far down is pure stupidity.

Not doing everything we can to keep him would also be stupid. Losing him would be a huge blow. We should be building the midfield around him.

There is an extension option that the club can trigger

Foderingham has said he wants to stay regardless if we go up or not.

Thats him off in the summer then.

Fredi has already stated that the out of contract players will be released (perhaps with the exception of Thompson) and that we'll likely sell anyone else we can. It's a given.

Any idea when these kind of clauses generally expire?

If Fods is going to have the kind of career we think he is capable of then he could do with being out of League 1 next year.

Time for him start climbing the career ladder.
