Isn't Hollands out injured for another month or so and hasn't Bostock signed for a club in the US ?

Has he? Oh fair enough then, i hadn't heard anything about that. But then again i was going by Wikipedia which still has him playing for Swindon Town.

What club did he go to over there?

Have we got any kind of scouting network now? Will it simply be a case of e-mailing clubs to see who is available, or is there a central "Listed for Loan" list available from the League?

I fear we could struggle to get players who can do the sort of job we need.

San Jose Earthquakes

Thought he'd be good enough for the US league TBH from the little i've seen of it/ him, the quality of most players doesn't look much above league 1. Stefani Miglioranzi played alongside David Beckham for Christ's sake in the twilight of his career after leaving us.

21 years old and 7 clubs without ever settling anywhere. The lower league Nicolas Anelka?

didn't realise he hadn't signed, presumably he's still at Spurs.

Reading that article I think the reason they chose not to sign him was a financial reason, the MLS is very peculiar and confusing in terms of wages

Could still be off to the MLS.

Of all the players brought in and sent packing again by di Canio, Bostock was the one that we should have kept and nurtured and used.  It may well be that he didn't fit comfortably in the 442 shape, but from a forward position in central midfield he was Beckham-esque in his ability to spread the ball around accurately.  If he is still around, I would get him back in immediately...sadly I dont think he would come again.

I tried to contact the club to recommend a player from the lower leagues in Scotland, and just got an automatic email back with Paul Bodin's mobile number! Eventually a mate gave me Nick Watkins' addy and I got a response saying "I've passed on the information to Paolo di Canio".

So that would be a no…

Surely a given we'll be seeing some ex-youth players from Mac the Knife's reign at Villa here some time.

Will be interesting to see if we go after some of the old regimes targets or start afresh.

Some clubs encourage supporters to recommend players - it's a free scouting network.

A friend of mine has a young boy (Cool who has already been picked up by Reading. He reckons no Swindon scouts are to be seen at most local games.

Hope this changes with KevMac - bringing on youngsters is essential for clubs of our size
