Yes And don't forget the, as usual, completely unfounded, Benson snowball... Such a positive window of dealings, but such negative guesswork surrounding it.
I think it's fair enough, when a first team player gets left out of the squad, to wonder if that player has fallen out with Di Canio - I do it, it's hardly an illogical thought. But then the trouble is that people have to take it a step further and it snowballs as you say. They claim to have 'heard' this, that or the other and that he's going to Shrewsbury/Rotherham or whoever when it's all just self perpetuating internet bull shit.

So that's it then!!  Very pleased with the squad, although somewhat surprised we signed another centre back when it would appear right back could be the problem position, although this shows PDC is putting a lot of faith into Devera/Thompson - as well as Bedwell as the back-up goalie.  And before somebody says it, yes I do know we can make emergency loans in a few days' time!!

I think Devera has done well so dont see why RB is a problem position. Maybe we would have signed a RB if Cibo had stayed but him leaving means we had to get LB cover in.

Really like the look of our signings. For the first time in a long time i can actually look at our squad and name not just a strong starting 11 but also a strong reserve 11.

If Devera is injured or suspended we are very short, unless Thompson proves to be a real gem, but my point was that we signed a centre-back when we already had a ready made one in Devera!!  Yes, IOB I agree that Devera has slotted in well at right back.

Anyone care to speculate what the team might be for tomorrow? I'm guessing an unchanged starting XI (but  who really knows?)

When it comes to the subs it's a bit of a crap shoot. I would go for the following, which would mean no place for Nathan Thompson, who would have every right to feel hard done by from what I've read about the Stoke game, new signing Giles Coke, Chris Smith or Miles Storey.

And that's assuming Benson and Roberts are not even in the squad. Jebus....

Foderingham

Devera
Flint
McCormack
McEveley

Ritchie
Miller
Navarro
Devita

Williams
Collins

Subs:
Bedwell
L Rooney
Ferry
Ward
Bostock
Bessone
A Rooney

As a purely personal opinion, leaving Ferry out from the starting 11 would never be an option

McCormack will play right back if joe gets injured and i would have thought ward would then come in at centre

I like Ferry, but some of the newer players may be even better?

Ferry and Navarro are the wrong side of 30 so its good to have competitive competition in midfield.

Especially as we are likely to have a lot of cup games coming thick and fast!
