They are throwing money at it a bit like we did. They will win the league next season sadly.

Like Crawley did last season?  Smug Fuck Off

Yes, they will compete.

They have signed Nardiello and Odejayi which is a decent strike force at that level. Looks like they are going to spend some cash and I expect them to be top 6 at least.

Poor old progressing slowly each year Oxford United are being left behind, shame!! Smiley

They'll be doing it the 'right way', so don't worry.

Without taking the piss, but if you try and put yourself in the yellow position (I can feel all the shudders now), it's all well and good convincing yourself that 'slow but sure' is the way to go, but half of them are going to be dead before they get their shit together.

Those that can - do

Those that can't - support Oxford!

To be fair to Oxford though, they have to be careful with the debts they have.

To be fair we probably did spend the most money out of the teams in the league.

Just goes to show, though, at League 2 level throwing some cash at it will generally work.

Otherwise clubs will just be hoping some magical combination of free signings and other people's cast-offs will come good (al a Oxford).

That's what having bigger crowds & higher ticket prices do for you though.

More income = more budget to spend on players

I think we should have shared our income with other teams in the league

Exactly, we averaged 8.5k attendances last season. So we were well ahead of the rest of league 2 budget wise, even before any money the backers put in is taken into account.

We needed to get a few more in to help with the £33 million black hole that Oxford find themselves in. Maybe we should donate all of the profits from GOING TO WEMBLEY too.

Meanwhile, Swindon are said to be interested in signing Yeovil Town striker Andy Williams.
The 25-year-old turned down a new deal at Huish Park last week and has caught the eye of the promoted Robins after scoring 17 goals in League One this season.
