Lets hope we don't lose Lavinier - we want players that can push others for a starting spot and he has talent and can definitely challenge, but I suppose it may depend on the fee offered for him if it is decent money with a decent sell on clause then it has to be considered.

Although if he goes to FGR will be a step backwards for him surely, you would think he would go to a team that can challenge in L2

re Young, both FGR and Bradford fans have said pretty much the same thing. Capable of scoring worldies and does appear to have talent, but the issue appears to be between the ears as he doesn't apply himself enough/is lazy. Perhaps a fresh start somewhere away from Valley Parade could unlock something. I doubt very much that Flynn will let him get away with doing nothing on the pitch. Best utilised as an impact as a sub was another thing Bradford fans stated.
Bradford utilised him mainly was a wide forward despite him being over 6 foot apparently he is not the best in the air.

He sounds fairly similar in style to Wakeling, just taller.

I fear this may backfire for the adver and be  a bit of a non event.  I will be pleasantly surprised if we do actually do some announce signings today though

I would say the fact they are doing it is proof its going to happen today.

If we sign Edwards and Godwin-Malife I’d be very happy.

If the trade off is we need to lose Lavinier then I think that’s fine as long as we keep Hutton and sign a proper LWB + Genesini.

If we lose Lavinier and Hutton then I’d be disappointed.

I might be the only one not actually too bothered if we sell Lavinier and Hutton as long as we get good replacements in.

It just leaves us with a lot to do, but if we're suddenly capable of signing players, we might be ok. If they're at the standard of a Kemp for example, I'd probably even be in favour of it. Lavinier is always injured and Hutton can't defend.

Totally agree i would take this scenario every day of the week but have to keep Hutton. I only evr wanted to lose Hutton if we replaced him with ML

I absolutely agree, but, do we actually know if Edwards is a viable target and on our radar as it all seems Twitter/paper talk to me.

Godwin-Malife sounds like a decent signing that we are after though but if we sign him we still need another experienced CB if indeed Edwards isn't a target.

Just quizzing my Dundee United supporting mate.

Oh  Roll Eyes
Said he is OK, but the team just got relegated so I suppose he isn't bouncing about the squad.

Think he's meant to be slow as fuck...but UGM is rapid and FBT isn't too slow so could provide a decent balance. Just need him to be in the right place at the right time.

My mate is a St Johnstone fan, he says Edwards is very tall, quite commanding in the air and a threat from corners, can mark and tackle but is prone to a mistake or 2 every game, very slow but he thinks he can do a job in L2 if we were to sign him as long as you have a bit of pace alongside him.

He also said that he doesnt think any English Championship sides would go near him but that some Scottish Championship clubs are after him.

So will this afternoon be a case of OGM or OMG?  Hmmm

I think...which is a very dangerous thing for me to do but...

Lavinier Goodbody - OUT
Goodwin Oh Malife - IN

Young - IN
Someone - OUT

I think Town also re-sign a former Town player  Hmmm

On Hutton, I think he will be sold but it'll be on deadline day. Very much a Nathan Byrne type scenario. He'll probably have a great start to the season with the first three or four fixtures before departing. Maybe even score a goal.

We seem to have a fairly decent run of RBs who have done ok wearing the Town livery...just a quick reference of Jack Smith, Miguel Comminges, Byrne, Hutton {but not defensively} etc. I know there's more but bar Smith, I think all of those were sold for profit...assuming Hutton goes in this window.

How come Edwards is back on the radar? I thought he was on a plane to India as we speak?

Sounds about par for the course regarding lumpy League 2 centre halves. Only 29 so i'm guessing he's carved out a decent career without ever really having any pace.

Not sure he is, just thinking people are pulling out the names discussed recently.

The only dead cert is the FGR lad as he was in the crowd on Sat and has done his medical.
