re Young, both FGR and Bradford fans have said pretty much the same thing. Capable of scoring worldies and does appear to have talent, but the issue appears to be between the ears as he doesn't apply himself enough/is lazy. Perhaps a fresh start somewhere away from Valley Parade could unlock something. I doubt very much that Flynn will let him get away with doing nothing on the pitch. Best utilised as an impact as a sub was another thing Bradford fans stated.

Given gaps in the team/squad at the moment and if Lavinier is leaving, then i would hope one of these three signings is a LWB as thats a gaping gap in the first eleven at present.

For those there on Sat you can see how far forward we are playing the wing backs, there is much more emphasis on the 'wing' element. The two outer centrebacks then almost cover the fullback slot, which is perfect for FBT and the new FGR lad.

Not sure who the hell plays LWB on Sat without an incoming. The way we are playing it now its not a role for FBT.

Ignoring the LWB for the moment, does the way we are setting up suggest that's the best way to utilise Hutton? Given he's an assist machine it sounds like it?

I think we will get the lad from Bournemouth, even if it was him who started on Saturday and none of those are the imminent 3.
Did his job wasn't spectacular but also not useless. After seeing that performance, yes there was room for improvement but I'm fairly optimistic.

Totally agree on that front. Hutton is so much better when he doesn't have to worry about defending. Perhaps if he was unsettled and wanted out this might be the catalyst for him to stay and be even better

Looking through the squad, there isn't really anyone that springs to mind, Wakeling maybe at a push. As you say, we'll have to recruit there, almost certainly.

Well if we trust Flynns quotes that he only wants to bring players in that improve the squad i'm not sure the Genesini lad did enough honestly. If we sign him its as back up to Hutton, not as the LWB.

Yeah absolutely it does, and Hutton is quick enough to get back in defensive position when required as well.

Even on Sat though you could see everything was down this side, finding a left footed version of him would be massive signing. I think we are all righting off Devine, and most have written off Shade as well.

I would say as another negative towards the Genesini lad, that Shade may be a better back up for the right sided position than the left honestly.

Sadly i think the trialists are used to fill gaps while the squad is short, i'm not expecting any of them to join. Though the one that impressed me most was the forward (9). Looked mobile, enthusiastic, had a decent touch.

Am I right in thinking Shade played LWB for Flynn at Walsall?

He did here as well for a bit I think. Actually think we started last season at Harrogate with Hutton LWB and Shade RWB for some reason

Christ I forgot about him! Yeah that's a good shout actually. I'm pretty sure his delivery into the box would probably be as erratic as when he has the ball, but needs must! Smiley

Brentford plucked him from non-league for their B team I think. Possibly worth a short term deal as a punt perhaps?

Yeah. Cutting back to constantly cross on the right foot (or pass back is more likely), really slows attacks honestly.

He has played LWB, but i think he's more natural cover for the right side, or cover for both sides if we are stretching the squad.

Regardless a proper LWB with a left back is very much required.
