I'd say the appointment of Flynn raised expectations we were going back to being a football club rather than a kindergarten.

lack of signings and rumours have flattened it.

it's true there is a subset of fans that are waiting to be negative, there's also a subset that are nothing but positive too.

That was exactly where I was at. Some light at the end of the tunnel and a lack of follow up has killed it completely.

A lot of people like to insinuate that I'm just always negative on here. I really don't want to be. I barely have the energy for it. I'd kill for a positive season. I was utterly fed up of it and the Flynn appointment and promises made had me hopeful. But realistically we're less than 3 weeks away now and we've made one signing.

Its extremely difficult to be anything other than negative given that. I'm not writing us off yet. There is still time to get some decent signings in, but the longer it goes on the more you wonder if it'll just be empty promise after empty promise from Clem.

A balance review Chalky not negative just realistic to where we're at today leaving us fans with expectations and hope that things will change before the season starts.

Agree mate i am the opposite as usually overly positive and defensive but thats usually more over the stuoid shouts i see. No money being spent etc last year and how we must be missing out on every single player because we were linked with them. Even today we get linked with Wickham and people are ready to explode

I don't have any rumours.

I would like us to have signed loads of players by now and offloaded a few too. I would have liked to see them all playing in preseason games and slaughtering lesser opposition and surprising the odd bigger team. But, I realise that this isn't going to happen.

But, I think that Flynn has given hints. He is a small budget manager and has said that he only wants to bring in quality and people who want to be here. He has said that the market is inflated (which means he isn't prepared (or doesn't have) big money. He has also said players need to go in order for others to come in - We have only lost Iandolo.

So, I'm expecting us not to sign anyone until the season is upon us. Probably a player or two that couldn't get better offers elsewhere. I'm sort of fine with that, as long as Flynn can get more of a tune out of the current lot than the last 2 managers did. I think he just might do that.

But, I'm worried after the 5-0 vs Swansea. I think that shows that we aren't very good out of possession and can't stop teams from scoring. The Supermarine and Melksham games show we are ok when we have control of the ball.

We have an 'ok' starting 11, but nothing on the bench. With what we have we will be lower mid table.

On one hand, I’m encouraged that our trialists are recognised names, and not punts. On the other, I am discouraged that we’ve not got anybody across the line and viable targets that would be an upgrade have chosen other clubs. Already people are considering Brewitt as a first team option, which I think epitomises the slow degradation of our first team squad.  It’s such a big few weeks ahead. There is still hope, but it feels like the club has to pull a few rabbits out of the hat.

I actually wasn't arsed about losing 5-0 to Swansea until I watched the video. We look utterly hopeless in defense.

We let Angus MacDonald go in January and still haven't replaced him 7 months later.

Connor Wickham - If he was a trialist, why wasn't he on the highlights reel?

Last season our CB issues were summed up by our best CB being a LB.

That’s still the case.

He's just getting fit with us before rejoining FGR
