Won't let me open it but reading the headline doesn't look good but he was proven not guilty.

Not showing up for his medical is also a potential red flag...

When he played for the Hobos he was regularly out on the tiles in Edinburgh pissed and coked out of his head. (Hibs had a lot of those dickheads on their books at that time - Derek Riordan was another class A fanny) No doubt he was a good striker but I think he went off the rails and the fact Forfar recently thought about trying to sign him and decided against it suggests he's really way off the kind of talent we will be looking at.

Fair enough, too much baggage some of it is true then.

TBH I am not sure what style of football Rotherham played last season in gaining promotion, the comment did seem to baffle the Rotherham fans on their forum too a little.
These comments rang some bells and i remember some tactical analysis videos going round last season showing how brilliant rotherham were at both pressing and playing out. repetitively doing the same patterns of play and showing how to drag the opposition around and exploiting the space. they also played 3-5-2. would be a very good print for us to follow and sounds like we have signed a player who would fit in well with the similarities. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/team-analysis/rotherham-united-202122-their-defensive-record-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics did a quick search and found this for any one that finds it interesting.

Wickham is a bit of a mystery really....much more high profile in his earlier days than his actual achienents would suggest. He was more than a one season wonder, and there were high hopes for his international career, but it seems just not to have come off, ending with one season at Franchise.....Maybe his knee injury may have done for him at the top level. I suspect he will demand far too much money for us to consider him

I was surprised that Wickham didn't play more at MK.
In L2 he could be quality, but there are question marks over his injury history and how much he would expect.
After signing Angus, I wouldn't be surprised if Wickham is the type of forward we are looking at.

Sheffield Wednesday had Wickham on loan 3 times. A Wednesday fan said that in 2013/14 he was unbelievable. But he's really struggled with injury and when he went back in 2020 he looked slow and laboured. His spell at Franchise in L1 never worked out so his trial at Reading will be telling. If he can't earn a contract at a club that can only sign free agents then he could have to drop down to L2 to try and ignite what is left of his career.
His wage demands would be a huge stumbling block to any side in L2 however. Unless he has earned enough throughout his career to warrant just being paid a 'reasonable' wage just to get back to playing football. The other thing we offer is top class sports science people so can look after him physically off the pitch.

Similar kind of profile to Will Keane who had never produced the goods until joining Wigan where he has scored 36 in 76 in his two seasons (26 last season alone). Could be he just needs to find the right club with good service or he could just be one of those troll players living off of a decent start to his career. I'd be equally not surprised for him to go somewhere and score 20 goals or something more like 3.
You'd imagine a player like him would be the kind of target our data driven process might identify but his underlying stats may well be rubbish as well as his actual output.
