I want to see some proper strong forwards to arrive now. More than one.

Maybe he's only expected to play a third of our games this season as backup?

Until all our business is done we won't really have any idea of the club's expectations of any of our signings.

People's propensity for doom is fantastic on here.

Decent post and trust me I am trying to remain positive, however right now I am concerned.
As Wobbly Bob posted above all about Harrogate and the business done up and until that point.

James Norwood won't be a target as it looks like hes off to Rovers on a free unfortunately.

Not that I expect us to sign anyone that experienced TBH.

Pathetic. Bargain basement signing this. Rovers were rampant from January onwards. Harries played once in that time. Once. 47 appearances out of a possible (approx) 130 games in 2 and half seasons.

Errrrr.... That's an odd argument. He couldn't get into a team in good form on a winning run that ended in promotion. So what? Isn't that what you'd expect regardless of the quality of the player. You don't change your CH pairing if you're winning unless you have to.

As for the rest have a look how many games Mkirdy played before he signed for us.

The data model doesn’t rely on us signing the players everyone knows are good, it relies on us signing diamonds in the rough. Keep the faith.

No issues with this type of signing so long as it’s supplemented by some more proven experience later in the window.

Over to you, Sandro…

Interesting to see where the statistics are back up this signing.
He was absolutely all over the place at the memorial.

I reckon the only statistics used in this one were the financial ones as to how cheap we can get him and fill the squad.

12 month deal for a player with more experience than Shade and Devine combined, who got 2 year deals. Says a lot don’t it.

Would Harries justify anything more than a year after a seemingly dodgy season at Rovers?

Stats out the window then maybe it's a case of beggars can't be choosers😀

Would you rather we gave him a 2 year deal?

I don’t think it’s doom mongering to be expressing concern at the moment. Not in the context of the managerial appointment, (current) reduction in the number of coaching staff, and the trio of  Hart, Austin and Standing circling.

I’d be intrigued to know how you sign Devine and Harries based on data. Is that reserve team data, youth team data, and when is it from? Because it’s not based on data of either of them being successful at first team level. And so I wonder if the supposed data-driven model is also bollocks, and doesn’t exist. And I only wonder that, because I don’t trust Austin to be here for any reason other than personal gain, through less than virtuous means, and I’ve no clue what Standing is supposedly here for, and former cocaine dealer Adam Hart.

Does anyone know?

Harries signing will be a hangover from Garner and Chorley's notes as opposed to data i'd say. Unless the data has a section on number of splinters collected while sitting on the bench.

Rather it was a 5 year deal with option of the 6th. Build for future. Positivity.

This I’ve been misunderstood. The fact this is a year deal, as he’s had a shit season, and the others are two year deals, tell you even the club ain’t fully convinced, despite him having More experience than both

Not really inspiring you are right but not sure how us not offering him a 2 year deal is also something to moan about.
