we've lucked out with Twine!

The lad had a fantastic season. He's earned his move and shot at the big time.

But while I was sorry to see him go, never in a million years did I think he'd be a 4m+ premier League player in a years time.

so we've lucked out on the speed of that move. While I'd love the money to go to the team, at least some, it can fund a large part of the clubs ground purchase or debts.

He still isn’t a Premier League player, Burnley went down.

He's come a long way since Wellens loaned him out. Good luck to him.
Let's hope the money can fund a marquee centre forward!

That might be how Nixon's calculated it but it's bad maths as sell of fees are based on a percentage of the profit on sale.   So the 300k is taken off the sale price before the percentage is calculated.

So  5m - 0.3m = 4.7m * 20% = £940k

It's an irrelevance as surely Charlton will get the sell on fee, after all they have taken everything else we have!!

It has to work that way or we wouldn't have got anything had they sold him for £1.5m or less.

This aged well, I suppose it’s why I work in financial services and not as a football scout. (This was after the Melksham friendly 2020)

“Twine offers nothing as a right sided forward and I doubt can cut it in league 1 or 2. However, due to the goals we should give him a go up top. There have been strikers who carved out a good career in football despite not being able to actually play. The textbook example being Inzaghi. If Twine carry’s on scoring in the league then you can’t leave him out. I doubt it though.”

Seeing Franchise fans saying 'look after him please' to Burnley fans on Twitter

As if they are the ones who produced him ffs.

He was with them one season. Hate that club.

Another reminder of the shout from behind me as Scott ran back along the touchline after being heavied off the ball- "It's a mans game Scotty!" which he clearly heard as he looked right at the shoutee with a pissed off look on his face.

I’m hoping not either but who knows what dodgy contracts were drawn up while he was here.
