Ben Purrington available on a free after leaving Charlton

Plenty of league 1 experience and a good age. You'd guess he would have suitors higher up but wouldn't be against it. CB/LB.

I reckon that commanding CB could be Dan Sweeney whose turned down a new deal at FGR. 6'4 CB whose well versed at playing it out from the back and has played in the CDM role before too. Richmond based so location works out too.

Signed for Stevenage today, so feels like he could have been a realistic possible - I'd hope we can compete financially with Stevenage!

But maybe his data sugested he was not a good fit - we are going to have to get used to players not signing who us mere mortals believe are exactly what we need.  Need to get used to trusting the data (rather than the process)

it's going to be interesting to see how the data side helps us.

I don't mean that in a disbelieving way.

but it's surely only a short cut to a short list, not an absolute

How does data work when any loanees we’re likely to get are youngsters with little or zero data available.

In fact, the whole thing seems to point to getting slightly older players in who at least have some data with which to make a decision.
