Really surprised Ipswich have told him he can leave to be honest.

Well they have and must have a good reason as well. Maybe £4.1k a week is good enough a reason.if he was good enough for the championship he’d have gone by now surely? Which then leaves the door open for a club in 1or2 who can match closely his current wages.

Tranmere also ‘linked’ - much in the same half arsed way we are. They seem to think that a signing on fee of £100,000 and £2k a week would do it. But am I right in thinking that if we are still under some umbongo we can only sign players that are without a club but not a player already attached even if it’s a free transfer. Ipswich would have to terminate his contract first if we are, indeed, anywhere near to maybe, possibly, strangely signing him.

Should also be noted that his wife is insistent they live down south.

John Akinde has turned down a move to Bristol Rovers. Indicates a move might be close for him, but where?

Akinde and Pitman would have been quite the heavyweight partnership.

Simpson has promise, but needs an older head alongside him - hopefully Norwood can be that player.

We won't be playing 2 up top.   Simpson will be back up.

Giving Alan Nixon the 'Anything on Swindon' chat on Twitter. Will almost certainly ignore me now Lethal Lee isn't feeding him news.

As it was confident end of last week we would be getting an attacking player imminently and we have not signed one imminently, I wonder if who they was targeting had signed elsewhere and we have had to readjust targets.

But as long as we get a couple more in by the slamming shut of the window then we should be good until January when we can re-evaluate.
