How many of these do you think we have then?
I would say, Curran, perhaps McGilp, Joe R, Twine, Henry, and then JMcG, TD and Anderson

Personally, if we could have signed Maynard for another £1k pw I think we should have found it within the budget - even if it meant not signing someone else.
Before last season Maynard hadn't got into double figures since 09/10. I wouldn't class him as a proven goal scorer yet alone someone worth breaking the budget over. At pretty much 33 if his legs go or he gets injured (and he has had a lot of injuries) Wellens would have ended up getting criticised for blowing his budget on an old injury prone player.

Just can.t see why we offered Twine and Henry contracts not going to make it . Football is brutal but why give Henry a contract never going to play and plenty of better keepers around, they must be on at least 600 to 700 a week needed in the goal scoring dept. we don't have a have a striker who can't score let alone one who can!

Saying you are 100% sure of signing a striker was always going to be a mistake.
Football fans have little patience and so with us a week before the start of the season, Town fans are good by to use that statement as a stick to beat either Wellens and Power or both.
We will have new attacking players in, it just may not be in time for next week’s kick off.

Whilst that's true, it is possible to phrase things in a certain way.... so that you don't leave yourself as a hostage to fortune.
Last season Wellens highlighted the number of players around the squad who couldn't really be used, but he seems to have created a similar scenario.
What you might call Will Henry syndrome..... why sign him if no intention of playing him?
Because it stops other clubs getting them.

09/10 we went into the season with one striker. And made Wembley.. We did start with a 5-0 dicking at the pikeys though, so hope that's not an omen.

Signing Charlie Austin did help with that. if we sign another Austin, and that gets woolery scoring 20+ too I'll be most happy

We don't need 1 let alone 2 of the 20+ goal per season strikers if you listen to some people on here.

As things stand we haven't a strike force with a combined 20 goals in a career, let alone a season. That 09/10 season was interesting as it was a third way in when CA appeared, however despite the opening day tonking we went 11 undefeated, because although only having Billy up top we were hard to beat and 7th when CA came in. The goals were shared around, by the time CA appeared 11 different scorers including OG. Hopefully Wellens' side will be similarly hard to beat, and a few chip in to compensate.

45 minutes of 'we need centre forwards' questions even if Town announce the signing of a centre forward before the phone-in.
