Ballard confirmed. Season long loan
Fatbury is probably knocking one out as we speak.

I'm surprised its taken an injury to Rose for Wellens to consider getting another one in. Considering the players that can be deemed first team we have Rose, May, Doughty and McGlip. The others either being youth or shipped out. I guess Anderson is playing more as a midfield player based on RW comments. Always assumed he would go and get a Canice Caroll replacement. Wait and see i guess.

As has been said, it's encouraging that (a) we've gone after players like Maynard and Mayor and (b) they've considered us. Should those two players be shipped out then it could give Wellens a bit more bargaining power for somebody of a similar calibre, shame the funds weren't there during these negotiations.

Essential we get another midfielder in if Tooms is being shipped out.
Rose and Doughty both prone to injury. May is an unknown as is McGilp.

I think a lot of people were excited about his name more than anything else. There were some calls to sign him even before the game started.

So is Diagouraga permanently crocked / taking the piss / both? Either way, it's going to be very hard to persuade anyone to take him off our hands. What a lot of cash for a small club to piss up a wall.

Disappointed Wellens doesn't seem to like Toums, well in that case get rid as hes obviously on good money, if indeed anyone will take him.
The daughter is a massive Arsenal fan and watches most Arse U23 games online and she says Ballard is pretty good at that level, pace and can pass and likes to score, sounds promising.
He can't be that bad if he has been called up to the Norn Iron 1st team squad at the age of 18 too.
Now get in those attacking options and we are good to go.
Not much mention of the French chap that scored a couple from those that went, I guess he is the number 10 position rather than a bulky target man? I know its difficult to tell after just one performance but we all live in hope that he is the new striker we have been needing for a while.
Don't know a lot about the other trialists TBH but thats why they are on trial...see what they have got.
I would not be shocked to see us get Carroll back in on loan in August when Brentford realise he isn't good enough for their first team yet and want him to get some more experience playing 1st team games with us again.

Well you hope so anyway!
I'm looking for intent. That we might be developing a squad capable of auto. When I see shed loads of trialists, players with dodgy fitness records going lame, and failure to land targets, I do wonder. Still 4 and a bit weeks to go, so opportunity to get things right.

Currently... A) Perm out - McGlashan, Iandolo and Diagouraga (I'd want him to stay) Loan out - Matthews, Haines, maybe Curran, Romanski, Bancroft and Graham B) Probably only the loans are likely to Bath, Supermarine etc. Can see McGlashan getting a loan move in NL like last year

I remember a couple of seasons watching us at Supermarine. We had a giant East European CB as a trialist spraying passes out from the back like Hoddle. Looked fucking brilliant. Disappeared without trace. Mind you good to have Dave and Quentin in the team together - I love weird, unpronounceable names.

Ballard confirmed. Season long loan
Really highly regarded looking at Twitter. I think we could be lining up 3-5-2 next season with Reid, Fryers and Hunt as wing backs. All admitted they like getting forward as well. Also means less need for a dog midfielder. All our CMs apart from Dave (no longer wanted apparently) are playmaker types. I’d still like us to get one in. I’d take Carroll again. Therefore I’d like us to go for: 2 strikers (1 loan and 1 perm) to go with Yates and Woolery Number 10 Winger if we need to change system to 433 or 4231 CDM All depends on outgoings as well
