Thread on the Millwall forum saying that Nelson has been told he isn’t being offered another contract in the summer by them. We have apparently told Millwall that he will take over his wages but won’t pay a fee for him. Millwall want a fee hence the deadlock. Poster on Millwall forum says this information comes from Nelson’s dad.

Already posted about this on previous page.

I actually read it as -

For his loan spell here, we offered to pay all his wages.
Millwall releasing him at end of contract.
We are/were treating his injury outside of his loan period, even though we weren't/aren't obligated to.
Harris never phoned once to see how Sid was getting on (according to MO poster who speaks with Sid's dad).
Sid wants to be here.
Millwall understandably would like a fee. Yet he's now out of tribunal range so he will leave on a free in the Summer.
Likelihood is he extends loan to end of season with us (wages £1.5kpw? I've no idea but equates to £30k that Millwall don't have to pay him so kind of becomes negligible/cutting your losses for a player they will get nothing for at end of season).
Been at Millwall 14years since a boy, if Millwall FC respect him (looks like Harris couldn't give a monkeys) they'll make sure the deal is right for Sid.
How much more they want I'd say is tit for tat because if they value him at 4th/5th choice and aren't renewing terms, as well as have a team (Town) willing to pay 100% of his wages then it they can't expect much more.

Worse case they won't agree to let him come to us (Town & Sid not happy) and they have an injured, 4th choice CB, they have to pay, who leaves on a free in the Summer (Millwall definitely not happy). Considering he's "one of their own", that would be piss poor treatment. Town then snap him up in Summer.

Best case they get a nominal fee for a fit player (Millwall happy) or keep him and have to pay for an unused player (Millwall & Sid not happy). He goes on a free in the Summer.

The right case for all parties they allow him to extend loan at Town (Town & Sid happy), thus he's off their wage bill (Millwall Happy), we make him perm in the Summer.

He'll come here, I've no doubt about it. They've given his squad number to new signing Pearce. Apparently didn't contact him to tell him if he should report back to Millwall or to Town for his rehab. Town stepped in and treated him the day after his loan had ended. If I was Sid I'd be pretty pissed off with the club I grew up at, treating me like that. Can you imagine if we'd done that with Thompson?

Where ever he goes someone will get a player who wants to play, and balls to everything else. Didn't think they existed anymore.

Pretty sure he'll come here. Likely a bit of posturing from both sides on the "negotiating" front. Even if it is pretty nominal/negligible fee. Millwall would be the ones who lose out most and Sid, because he wants to be here. What a way to treat your homegrown talent, ey?

We'll get him.

Right footed, poor distribution and never played in that position by his parent club. Let’s pray Wellens doesn’t share your thoughts.
Poor distribution based up a few Pox fans who are pissed off that he has signed for Town.

He has been played at LB by Brentford in the U23 league although he is not a left footer.

And mis-timing the header v the door frame on his way out by all accounts.

Feel sorry for Adabayo, treated harshly by the fans.  He must be running back to Fulham with a big sigh of relief.

Hopefully without losing his balance and falling over on the way.
Seriously though, and as others have said, there is a player in there somewhere.

Maybe the lesson should be to have the spine of the team made up of good solid permanent signings and use the loanees to fill the more peripheral roles of full back and wide midfield.

Always a big ask for a young rookie to fill one of main striking roles.
Albeit not helped by Richards not reaching the standard set last season.
