I was hoping you were going to tell us that a certain delight can be found in watching the I watched one youth game, when we got stuffed by Everton in the Cup semi final or something.  Spoke to an Everton fan/friend after that game and told him to watch out for Jeffers, he'd probably go on to play for England one day.  I was right, just, but I couldn't tell you the names of any other players that day and whether they made it or not.  What we know about these players is that they are young and that is about it.  We know most players from that level don't ply a decent career, but we have no way of knowing if it's more of the drivel we mostly get, or a bit more like a Given.

That sounds like the evening game they opened the North Stand/Arkells in the late 1990s - and had to delay the start because of the crowd size.  Several thousand turned up.  Good game, as I recall.  Jeffers definitely the star for Everton.  Fairly sure Robin Hulbert started for us.

Hulbert was supposed to be the real deal - shortly before Sol Davis broke into the side he was the bright young thing. I remember him
being tidy enough, without being special, but once he got going we had to stop playing him to prevent
triggering a payment to Everton. Perhaps the Newcastle loan was effectively a trial.

Was that when they stuck the extra seats in down to pitch level?

Tedious link here but with the domino effect of football transfers, we could see Nelson here on a perm soon, especially as the player mentioned below has only been signed as back up CB for Millwall.

Quote
Millwall have completed the loan signing of Derby Centre Back, Alex Pearce

Pearce contract with Derby ends in the Summer, so if he impresses at The New Den, he'll likely join them in the Summer on a perm.

https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alex-pearce-millwall-derby-loan-2390365

Pearce has been given Sid's number 15 shirt too...

https://millwall-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/derby-defender-alex-pearce-set-for-millwall-move.33422/page-3

That surely opens up (injury pending) the door for us to sign Sid? Especially as the player seemed happy here. I'm confident he'll be back.

Having signed Carol Candice, and hopefully Nelson, perhaps Wellens is thinking of Woolfenden at LB. Hardly an attacking option, but at least he can defend.

Candice can play RB or LB can't he? As well as CB, could it be that Woolfenden will be sent back? Decent player at times but there's an element of "hand-holding" going on with Woolfenden. Candice does seem to have that bit more experience and utility element and could slot in.

Either way we will still need a LB or CB in if we return Woolf/Don't sign Sid. I imagine unless some more movements happen today, we'll see Woolf & Candice play v Silks but likely if we get the nod on Sid, we will return Woolf and our new CB pairing will be Sid n Candy.

Right footed, poor distribution and never played in that position by his parent club. Let’s pray Wellens doesn’t share your thoughts.

Could be bullshit but a poster on the Millwall forum, who speaks to Sid's Dad, seems to have knowledge that we are treating Sid's injury. This was posted on Wednesday around 5pm.

Quote
...He spoke to our physio yesterday and Harris was on the coach, He has not been told whether to report back to Wall or stay at Swindon for treatment, Swindon have taken it upon themselves to treat him they are under no obligation to do so...

Also reveals that Town offered to pay his wages in full while on loan (which we aren't obligated to do), Neil Harris has never rang to see how he's getting on and seems to think that we'll get him on loan to end of season and sign for free in the Summer.

Be nice to have that revealed as kosher tomorrow or Monday, "Nelson extends loan, with agreement to sign perm in Summer"

That buffer being 4 points, rather than the current 12.

True but as said the Macc game is important because we want to keep that nice gap, a win for them and it'll mean nearer the drop than the PO's so continuing to go the wrong way, and a game v Lincoln coming up. Poor runs are a nasty habit, that we need to break sooner rather than later.

Thread on the Millwall forum saying that Nelson has been told he isn’t being offered another contract in the summer by them. We have apparently told Millwall that he will take over his wages but won’t pay a fee for him. Millwall want a fee hence the deadlock. Poster on Millwall forum says this information comes from Nelson’s dad.
