Now I could have sworn Power said he'd get the business done early for this season. Just more crap. Personally I think that's it for signing except for a couple of season long loanees.

Despite him suggesting that deals will be done early this pre season we all know that Power likes to keep his cards close to his chest and pull out late deals just before the season starts as he has done in the last two seasons, I don't think that will change now.

Oh and we have signed Vigs and Goddard so far as well as extending the contract of Sendles-White so its like theres been no signings at all.

Thomas, Goddard, Vigoroux in and Ajose would seem like a pretty decent amount of early business done?

Cox would have been a good signing. Southend could be dangerous this year with him and potentially Ranger up top.

FFS! Every time I see this thread with a new post I think it may actually concern a  player coming in.

Worst close season.

Ever!

Yes but if Sarfend end up with injured Cox and twatty behaviour of Ranger (both very likely)  then they have potentially a massive wage bill with nothing to show for on the pitch.

Cox would have been a good signing in 2009. Nothing he's done in recent years suggests that he'd be more than a shadow of the player he was, and on a ton of money to boot. Ranger and Cox up front would be a massive gamble (you may remember we were very excited over the proven L1 quality of Cureton and Thorpe up top)

Sarfend could actually have a forward line that consists of Cox, Ranger and Ex town loanee Ronan Murray, who is on trial there, next season.

32 Goals in 193 games in the last 9 seasons. Poor injury record. Questionable fitness. (Presumably) quite big wages...

On what planet, apart from among classic STFC fan grumbling, does Simon Cox constitute a good signing?

Corrected for you....

Some of us went to watch training sessions and could see from the body language of Cureton and Thorpe bitching about Kingy's antediluvian training methods....it might be trouble ahead.

Of course, under the current regime, watching training is pretty difficult, I'm not even sure where they do it atm, which is partly why I've been minded not to bother thinking too much about STFC 16/17.

However now we're into mid July, the odd thought is popping into the head. So regards new signings this was my take last week....

Quote
Well we used 20 of our own players tonight, quite a few being kids, but I can easily see this being how Wiliams will want to progress....prob a couple of loans and perhaps one more permanent, and we'll be good to go

Not really seen anything to change this view, of course if JO and YK depart they'll need replacing.

Would be a good signing but Burton, Sheff Utd and Barnsley are after him too.

But we've heard of him! That means he'll be a good signing
